Tomorrow I will be photographing the wedding of Carrie and Shane! I am so excited I thought it would be a good time to share their engagement session. They are so fun and fun to be around! Can’t wait for tomorrow!

This wedding was such a joy! Katrina and Jason did things a little differently from the traditional wedding ceremony. For example, the reception dinner, toasts and games all happened before the ceremony. And photos happened before all of that! It was super lovely, especially for me as the photographer
. It meant an evening light ceremony, which was perfect. This ceremony took place at Bamberton, BC, near Mill Bay. The wedding photography centered around the property which is a remediated quarry.
First a look at Katrina receiving a photo book from her bridesmaids.
This couple had a wedding from the heart. Almost all of their details were handmade and featured rustic elements like vintage paint cans and wildflowers. The feel of the wedding was a picnic with lawn games, a popcorn stand, a lemonade stand, and even a fiddler to entertain.
Here are just some of the photos of the details.
Then it was off to the Bamberton site for a first look.
Joy, now time for more photos!
The remnants of an old kiln made for a cool backdrop!
Katrina’s beautiful dress was from Victoria Bridal Boutique.
Back to the reception!
I love this photo of Jason with his sisters![]()
Jason and Katrina’s kissing game was mimicking famous kisses from TV, movies, and even cartoons.
I love the way Jason looks at Katrina. You can see how much he adores her.
Time for a couple of fun photos before the ceremony!
Ceremony time!
Several blessings were said for the couple. One of the most amazing was from Katrina’s grandfather.
Jason is pumped that she said “I do!”
And because this wedding was so cool already, they danced down the aisle to “signed, sealed, delivered” after the kiss. Guests followed them back to the reception tent for the first dance.
This wedding was full of love and joy. I loved every second on it. For more, check out this wedding’s feature on RealWeddings.ca
Beautifully captured, Nichole! I feel their love and joy in their images.
Hi,
This pictures are gorgeous!I am getting married next summer and was wondering if you could tell me where this was? Thank you,
Natalie
Miranda and Paul are such a cool couple, I was so lucky to be their wedding photographer. And the best part is that I got to spend two different days with them this summer, one in Sooke, BC and one in Langford, BC (including Hatley Castle). They had a small elopement ceremony in the early summer, followed by a reception (with unity candle lighting) that happened in August. Second best part? Miranda got to wear TWO pretty dresses. :)
The excitement can be seen on Paul’s face!
And no wonder when such a stunning bride was coming down the aisle!
Yes! Paul pulled off the dip-kiss!
Now these two are all love and also all fun!
Now to the getting ready for the wedding: part II. The big party!
Yes, those are tails, top hats, and canes! Accents also came out to play, which I think is pretty much impossible NOT to do when these costumes are employed!
First look at each other all done up! Lovely!!
The father of the bride had a star wars (or star trek? please don’t hate me for not knowing the difference!) communicator used quite impressively to fit into his speech.
Another dip for the first dance!!
Woo hoo! I love how each and every wedding is so different! My job is not boring in the least!!! Thanks Miranda and Paul for just being so cool!![]()
Just a warning – I cried twice at this wedding. It might help to know I already knew the family from the wedding of Chelsea and Tristan – Kandace is Tristan’s sister. So I was already pretty much loving this family. Kandace is such a cool girl, so beautiful and so fun! I loved seeing the excitement on her face as she was getting ready.
Then it was off to Olympic View Golf Course for the ceremony. Kandace was walked down the aisle by her dad. Their dance together at the end of the night was my second cry of the day. What was the first? Keep reading….
Robin was such a great groom. I love how much he clearly adores Kandace.
Here is Kallie, Kandace’s beautiful daughter. I am loving this tiara. Like what little girl doesn’t want to be a princess?
The stunning Kandace![]()
I know I mentioned tears but there was also a heck of a lot of joy and laughter.
After the ring exchange came this moment. Now that Robin had dedicated his life to Kandace, he took the time to also dedicate his life to Kallie, and gave her a dragonfly necklace. So yes, I shed tears, but seriously there was not a dry eye to be found at this stage of the wedding.![]()
This wedding party was a total hoot. Quite clearly a group that likes to have FUN!
I feel so very lucky to have been a part of this day and I thank Kandace and Robin for inviting me to do just that. Congrats to them and happy day!
Jessica and John were married this summer at St. Ann’s Academy here in Victoria, BC. The wedding was absolutely gorgeous and full of joy and love on the faces of the couple and all their family and friends! I want to thank Gwen Ewart for being my assistant photographer on this fine wedding day!
We started with the couple getting ready:
Followed by the ceremony at St. Ann’s Academy. Jessica’s bouquet and wedding planning were provided by Fresh View Events. Sarah did such a stellar job!
One of my favourite things is to get some photos of the parents. There is such pride and joy on the parents’ faces as they watch their children all grown up and getting married!
Jessica was so lovely and they are both so in love. I had a great time at this wedding!
They took dance lessons for their first dance. It was so awesome. And don’t you love her reception dress???
What a great wedding to start of the New Year blogging! Happy New Year Everyone!!
Ooooo that one with the veil over her face – love!! Thanks Nichole!
Thanks Nichole! you did such an amazing job
