One reason my job never gets boring is that every wedding is so different. Meet Fran and Harry. They are so cool. Every detail was so personal.
The day started with a first look just outside the barn at Kildara Farms.
It was lovely 🙂
Then we were off to do some portraits before the ceremony.
Fran and Harry walked each other down the aisle.
They did not have a wedding party, but they did involve their nephews and niece in the ceremony. The children were chosen to present gifts to very special friends and family in attendance at the ceremony. It was such an intimate wedding.
Then we had some time for some fun with this non-traditional wedding party 🙂
And always time for fun with friends.
Fran looked absolutely breathtaking. I also think she looks like a young version of my mother. I should post a photo sometime to see if you all agree. But my mom is beautiful too.
Checking out the new hardware!
The nephews even got up to do a speech and a song. The best moment was when this guy ended the speech by saying “toast!”
There was love in every little piece of this wedding, and I was just so lucky to be part of it!
Time to hear from the happy couple!
1) Tell me how you first met?
Harry and I first met when we both started working at the same treatment clinic. We were friends for years before we started dating.
2) Tell me about the proposal.
Harry proposed on my birthday. I was taken completely by surprise. We were having a picnic at Island View Beach, hanging out with our dog. It was a beautiful day, weather wise, and we were enjoying a quiet day together. When he asked me, my initial response was “are you sure?” I had thought that marriage was never a big item on his to-do list.
3) Tell me the one thing you love most about each other.
Harry does a great job of letting me be me, which is no easy task. It means so much to me to feel like I can truly be myself.
Fran does all these little things for me on a day to day basis, it always makes me feel appreciated.
4) Share with me something silly or quirky the other person does.
We always play music trivia when we drive in the car- to see if we can name the song and artist on each of our pre-set stations on the car stereo.
5) Besides getting married –‐ what was your favourite thing about your wedding day?
The fact that the whole day reflected who we are as a couple, from the setting, to the food, to our kick ass photographer, we were comfortable and relaxed. We only invited the people we actually care about and are active in our lives. No obligatory invites- that was our rule. We had a blast- one of the best days of our lives.
6) What inspired your décor or theme?
Mother nature and a barn
7) What’s one thing you wish you would have known earlier in regards to planning?
It will always cost more than you think, even when you plan and save and try to be a miser.
