Kirsten and Dan were married in the middle of the Rocky Mountains. Not a bad choice of venue, wouldn’t you say? I have known Kirsten for years and I was SO excited to get the call to be her wedding photographer. Kirsten and Dan are full of life and laughter. I think Kirsten’s parents said it best in their wedding speech when they said that the volume of their house increases when Kirsten is home. She is animated and just excited about life. When she used to lead brownies, her nickname was Sunshine. And that fits better than most nicknames I have heard.
Speaking of that venue, check out this view.
Some last minute speech writing from the guys and the girls.
Kirsten and Dan exchanged notes before the ceremony. This was such a great idea. I always love it when couples hire me for the getting ready, so moments like this are captured. After all, this was the one part of the day they were not together!
The shoe montage. Don’t you love Kirsten’s face? I really do. This girl loves life!
So the cutest flower girl in the world had stolen some big girl socks, which made for some hilarity. She was pretty entertaining all day!
One of the best moments was when Kirsten’s dad saw her for the first time. Tears all around. I love this family!
Time for the cermony!
And add in one super fun wedding party to boot!! These guys were a super cool bunch! But you can see that for yourself.
I cannot resist the photos of Kirsten laughing. There were a lot of photos of the bridal party to choose from, but to me the laughing ones are where she looks the most like the person I know she is. Also, couldn’t resist a fun couple of photos. 😀
This image below is so simple, but I am in love with it.
Time for the reception! FUN! Some shoe game action kept people laughing. And some heartfelt speeches received both laughter and tears. They even had someone write and perform a song for them! Also, scroll for a bit and you will see them drinking out of a german wedding cup. You can read the story behind this here, but I can report not a drop was spilled!
Time for the first dances!
Kirsten and Dan planned a little time for sunset photos. This was about 10 minutes, just steps outside the barn where the reception was. I completely recommend this. It’s a time of excellent light, and the photos come out amazing. Totally worth the 10 minute time investment.
I had to end with this photo. It was near the end of the day, and this is the couple in a nutshell. Full of joy, laughter, and life. Congrats you two. It was such an amazing pleasure to be there for your big day!
