First a look at Katrina receiving a photo book from her bridesmaids.

This couple had a wedding from the heart.  Almost all of their details were handmade and featured rustic elements like vintage paint cans and wildflowers.  The feel of the wedding was a picnic with lawn games, a popcorn stand, a lemonade stand, and even a fiddler to entertain.  Here are just some of the photos of the details.

Then it was off to the Bamberton site for a first look.

Jason and Katrina’s kissing game was mimicking famous kisses from TV, movies, and even cartoons.

I love the way Jason looks at Katrina.  You can see how much he adores her.

Time for a couple of fun photos before the ceremony!

Ceremony time!

Several blessings were said for the couple.  One of the most amazing was from Katrina’s grandfather.

Jason is pumped that she said “I do!”

And because this wedding was so cool already, they danced down the aisle to “signed, sealed, delivered” after the kiss.  Guests followed them back to the reception tent for the first dance.

And no wonder when such a stunning bride was coming down the aisle!Yes!  Paul pulled off the dip-kiss!Now these two are all love and also all fun!

Now to the getting ready for the wedding: part II.  The big party!    

Yes, those are tails, top hats, and canes!  Accents also came out to play, which I think is pretty much impossible NOT to do when these costumes are employed!

First look at each other all done up!  Lovely!!

The father of the bride had a star wars (or star trek? please don’t hate me for not knowing the difference!) communicator used quite impressively to fit into his speech.

Woo hoo!  I love how each and every wedding is so different!  My job is not boring in the least!!!  Thanks Miranda and Paul for just being so cool!

Then it was off to Olympic View Golf Course for the ceremony.  Kandace was walked down the aisle by her dad.  Their dance together at the end of the night was my second cry of the day.  What was the first?  Keep reading….

Robin was such a great groom.  I love how much he clearly adores Kandace.

Here is Kallie, Kandace’s beautiful daughter.  I am loving this tiara.  Like what little girl doesn’t want to be a princess?

I know I mentioned tears but there was also a heck of a lot of joy and laughter.

After the ring exchange came this moment.  Now that Robin had dedicated his life to Kandace, he took the time to also dedicate his life to Kallie, and gave her a dragonfly necklace.  So yes, I shed tears, but seriously there was not a dry eye to be found at this stage of the wedding.

This wedding party was a total hoot.  Quite clearly a group that likes to have FUN!

I feel so very lucky to have been a part of this day and I thank Kandace and Robin for inviting me to do just that.  Congrats to them and happy day!

We started with the couple getting ready:

Followed by the ceremony at St. Ann’s Academy.  Jessica’s bouquet and wedding planning were provided by Fresh View Events.  Sarah did such a stellar job!

One of my favourite things is to get some photos of the parents.  There is such pride and joy on the parents’ faces as they watch their children all grown up and getting married!

Jessica was so lovely and they are both so in love.  I had a great time at this wedding!

They took dance lessons for their first dance.  It was so awesome.  And don’t you love her reception dress???

These two love each other so much and I was honoured to be asked to come to Ontario to capture their day.  I couldn’t have possibly had a better time.  Their families are amazing and their wedding party was a blast!

First look.  Ah!  I love these two!  Look how excited Simon is to see her!

Jenn’s dad has a yacht.  It has a good name.  Photo Op!

Hooray for the amazing wedding party!!

Simon walked down the aisle with his parents.  Love his parents.  They live in Newfoundland, which is where I was born and raised.  They are not originally from there, but you would never know.  When I first met Simon I asked him if he was a newfie, and he said “I like to think I am.”  And so, of course I thought he was cool from minute one.  Also funny, Simon walked down the aisle to the song “The Final Countdown”.  Yeah, I was laughing as I captured this.  So very Simon.

How gorgeous is Jenn? With her proud dad walking her down the aisle.  Stunning girl, simply stunning!

Best man and maid of honour.  What a FUN group!

Superhero Simon:

Jenn and Simon found this awesome pretty little road near her house.  Great for shade and also a pretty great backdrop.

On to the golf course!  I had a great time with these two!

Jenn and Simon went straight into their first dance as they entered the reception hall.

Their cake was an amazing masterpiece and included little very realistic meringues shaped and coloured like little mushrooms!

It might have taken them a while to get out a piece of cake, but there were cheers from the guests when they did.  Yay!

The real dancing got started with the father/daughter and mother/son dances.

What a great time!!  I am so happy I was there to share it.  Congrats to Jenn and Simon!

Their wedding day at Sooke Harour House in Sooke (just outside of Victoria, BC) was great.  It was June 23rd and the rain was threatening to try to dampen spirits, but it could not!  The ceremony was moved inside and a good time was had.  We even got some sun at the golden hour and headed out for 5 minutes of sunset photos (hint to future brides, this takes about 10 minutes and produces very beautiful images – worth considering!  My two cents as a photographer!).

Krista and her AMAZING bridesmaids!  These girls were a total blast and just gorgeous inside and out.  On a side note, don’t you love these dresses?

Geoff is the coolest groom ever.  When I saw him at this moment below, I commented on how calm he was, he seemed to have no nervous energy at all.  He replied, “What’s there to be nervous about? I love the girl!”  Best reply ever!

Krista is so beautiful, and she has such a beautiful soul.  She lives in the moment and is so present.  

See that cool wooden vessel on the table below?  Yeah, that is a wedding vessel and was handmade by Geoff himself, who is a total artist when it comes to woodworking.  He makes some beautiful stuff!  We are actually going to work together in the future with him making some awesome picture frames.  Can’t wait to bring you more news on that in the new year!

Krista made her own dress out of a vintage dress.  She is talented too! Also, it was raining in this pic.  A little rain was not going to keep these two from the beach!

On to the reception…

Tristan and his little brother.  Did I mention I love these families?

Chelsea had the most amazing dress – custom made by Alida’s Gowns.  Check out her back!  They get their tans from travelling.  Cause they are awesome.

The gorgeous bridesmaids.  And Chelsea’s totally incredible mom.  Yeah, I was surrounded by beautiful women.  It was a pretty spectacular day!

Chelsea and Tristan were married at the Sidney North Saanich Yacht Club.  An outdoor ceremony was the plan but mother nature had other plans.  Fortunately, the reception tent was quickly turned into a ceremony venue, complete with some pretty great light.  And there was so much love in the room, it was perfect.

Tristan, you are great.  I love how you are looking at Chelsea with such love.

The rain cleared up for pictures – so thank you mother nature – you knew what you were doing!  Check out this wicked cool bridal party!
