This wedding was such a joy! Katrina and Jason did things a little differently from the traditional wedding ceremony. For example, the reception dinner, toasts and games all happened before the ceremony. And photos happened before all of that! It was super lovely, especially for me as the photographer :). It meant an evening light ceremony, which was perfect. This ceremony took place at Bamberton, BC, near Mill Bay. The wedding photography centered around the property which is a remediated quarry.
First a look at Katrina receiving a photo book from her bridesmaids.
This couple had a wedding from the heart. Almost all of their details were handmade and featured rustic elements like vintage paint cans and wildflowers. The feel of the wedding was a picnic with lawn games, a popcorn stand, a lemonade stand, and even a fiddler to entertain. 🙂 Here are just some of the photos of the details.
Then it was off to the Bamberton site for a first look.
Joy, now time for more photos!
The remnants of an old kiln made for a cool backdrop!
Katrina’s beautiful dress was from Victoria Bridal Boutique.
Back to the reception!
I love this photo of Jason with his sisters 🙂
Jason and Katrina’s kissing game was mimicking famous kisses from TV, movies, and even cartoons.
I love the way Jason looks at Katrina. You can see how much he adores her.
Time for a couple of fun photos before the ceremony!
Several blessings were said for the couple. One of the most amazing was from Katrina’s grandfather.
Jason is pumped that she said “I do!”
And because this wedding was so cool already, they danced down the aisle to “signed, sealed, delivered” after the kiss. Guests followed them back to the reception tent for the first dance.
This wedding was full of love and joy. I loved every second on it. For more, check out this wedding’s feature on RealWeddings.ca
